Damn you guys are beautiful…
Great new song! I hope you guys make it through Philly when you tour the new album that or invite me to Canada to join the band. A boy can dream right.
While this is a good song, I can’t help but be a bit disappointed that you’re moving away from your original sound. Red Yellow & Blue was so exceptionally good, I wish you could churn out some more like that.
I was hoping for a sound similar to the RED YELLOW & BLUE album but this is pretty great too. though im slightly disappointed. But youre still my favorite band! come to orlando sometime. i saw yall in houston in 2012 (or maybe it was 2011) and i need to see yall again soon. much respect.
oh and if yall read this, post your little garcon harmonica tabs somewhere so i can learn that?
I enjoy the exploration. Each album brings something new. It always takes a few listens for the song to get into my skin but when it finally does I sweat it out dancing in my heart room. The band prevents the arrangements from sounding like what you want to hear (AKA bands with a similar style). But the best part of listening to new songs by Born Ruffians is hearing those sweet melodies turn into sweet words after a few listens. A big bowl of Luke’s Lyrics to chew on throughout your day. (Blows bubble.) *POP*
For all of you commenting that you want more of Red Yellow and Blue, please make sure you listened to their previous release last October-ish (Sorry, also forget the name of it ;-( ? It was very quirky and much like a more mature evolution of RY&B. So let’s celebrate this new gem which offers us fans a glimpse of a good spread of variety on our next BR purchase. I love it.
And also, I forgot, F U Pitchfork for dissing Sole Brother, one of my FAV songs to date from any band
They should go whine about how no one buys magazines anymore and leave us to our music…
Hey Mitch I didn’t know about David Bowie lots of talent born on that date from your rock and roll aunt thank you
I love RY&B, but always respect artist more when their sound explores new spaces, pushing the limits of the band as well as the limits of the listeners. Thanks BR.
ps. Sensing some Paul Simon influence in this song? Really dig that!
